This is a great movie recommended by my brother. The movie is based on a true story of Christopher McCandless.
Christopher grew up in Annandale, Virginia, after graduating from Emory University in 1992, a top student and athlete, abandoned his possessions, gave his entire $24,000 savings account to charity (OXFAM) and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness without any compass or map.
Along the way, he encounters a series of characters who shape his life. He died of starvation at age of 24 in a wilderness area of the state of Alaska and his decomposed body was found 2 weeks later by moose hunters.
I find this movie meaningful but the pace a little slow.
"Happiness is Real when it is shared" was what he wrote before his death.
